Development of Methodologies for the National Energy Savings Initiative (NESI)

EnergyConsult, with assistance from Beletich Associates, prepared a set of potential energy savings activities to be included in the proposed NESI. The research focused on outlining potential deeming methodology approaches appropriate to NESI. A summary of  appropriate methodologies was outlined along with calculations to determine the average energy savings for each of the proposed activities. The development of the deeming methodologies included making recognition of the climate, building stock and appliance market penetration variations across Australia and adding appropriate factors to the deeming algorithms to calculate savings in different climatic regions and jurisdictions.
