RIS for MEPS for Home Entertainment Products

The Regulatory Impact Statements (RIS) establishes whether or not the introduction of any regulation for home entertainment products, including Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), results in net economic, social and environmental benefit for the economy and the country. In this case, a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) was completed before the development of a RIS and includes very detailed assessment of economic, social and environmental impacts of the proposed regulations and provides thorough cost-benefits analysis. The scope of this analysis included applying MEPS to the standby power consumption of Home Entertainment products in Australia and New Zealand.
