Expanding Mandatory Disclosure to Office Tenancies: A Feasibility Assessment
The feasibility study assessed the potential to expand mandatory disclosure of energy efficiency to the commercial office sector.
A similar study to the CBD Expansion Concept Study, where mandatory disclosure of tenancy energy efficiency could be used as a tool for driving efficiency outcomes other sectors. The feasibility study assessed the market characteristics and potential drivers for the expansion of the CBD program to office tenancies. Included was an assessment of the rationale of a policy case for mandatory disclosure of tenancy energy efficiency ratings, which covered the cost-benefits under a range of scenarios, including scope of coverage, timing of disclosure and program effectiveness. This project was conducted under sub-contract to Energy Action.
