Energy Bill Estimation Algorithms for ‘Energy Made Easy’

Developed new calculations to help consumers compare energy bills, as part of the Energy Made Easy website.

The project was conducted as part of the feasibility of re-developing the comparison website. New technology, such as smart meters and new retailer tariffs are now included in the re-developed website. EnergyConsult undertook research, billing data analysis of over 400 smart meter outputs, calculations and assessment of the risks for the feasibility study. The calculation approach for electricity and gas bill estimates was based on three user entry pathways (no bill data, some billing data and smart meter data).
