Queensland Air Conditioner Load Forecast

A comprehensive load forecast of the impact of air conditioners on the Queensland electricity system was undertaken for ENERGEX and Ergon Energy. It involved the assessment of stocks and new sales for various categories of air conditioners, then modelling the increase in stock in various regions relevant to the electricity distribution areas. MEPS and other energy efficiency measures were taken into account for the forecast, as well as the penetration of air conditioners in the residential sector by Queensland statistical division. The study was conducted in 2012 and repeated in 2013 and 2014.
