Impact Assessment of LED Retrofits with Low Power Factor

An assessment of the impact of the the Retailer Energy Efficiency Scheme (REES) Commercial Lighting Upgrade on low power factor sites.

EnergyConsult advised on the effects of poor power factor on customer sites if they participate in the REES LED Lamp only upgrade. Included in the impact assessment were the possible impacts of LED lamp only upgrades under a range of assumed power factors scenarios. Such as scenarios that might occur if the LED installations led to poor power factor outcomes. The assessment provided conclusions on the changes to the scheme to ensure that it meets the Ministerial protocol.
