Modelling Energy Management Systems for Emissions Reduction in Victoria

A technical analysis and modelling of opportunities was conducted for energy management systems and their emission reduction potential in Victoria.

The models were based on existing markets and opportunities with predicted energy savings accounted until 2025. The analysis focused on upgrades in residential and non-residential premises by installing or integrating software, digital technology or other products that manage energy usage behind the meter in a manner that leads to emissions reductions. This model formed a key component of the projections of emission targets for the Victorian Energy Upgrade (VEU) scheme over the period to 2025.
