Modelling Increased Solar PV Generation in Victorian Houses
The model assessed the relationships between increased solar PV installations in households and various energy usage strategies.
A simulation tool was designed with the goal of analysing various outcomes of energy usage in households with increased solar PV installations. The modelled outcomes were determined by various methods of managing the energy usage behind the meter. Strategies modelled include battery energy storage, electric hot water, electric vehicles and air conditioning. The model assessed 48 half hourly load data for each month of the year by strategy, which was then combined with general household electricity usage.
