RIS for MEPS for Air Conditioners
This RIS focused on whether introducing more stringent MEPS for air conditioners was justifiable and includes a very detailed assessment of economic, social and environmental impacts of the proposed regulations. It also involved a thorough cost-benefits analysis and stakeholder consultations. The RIS forecasts air conditioner energy use under business as usual (BAU) and MEPS scenarios for 15 categories of air conditioners up to 65 kW capacity. EnergyConsult led the project and wrote the RIS concerning the adoption of a 10% increase in the existing MEPS level for Air Conditioners in Australia.
